Mana Cycle Club volunteers completed an ascending trail from Kiwi Crescent in Tawa, designed to take riders from Tawa into Spicer Forest and beyond to the Rangituhi trails.  The Club were keen to extend this trail into a loop ride by building a trail that looped back and down, returning to Tawa.

Their volunteers embarked on the first half, with a hand-built project. Then Trails Wellington and WCC joined in the fun. Trails Wellington contributed funds to help build the second half using machinery. WCC constructed the ascending track and provided the majority of the funding for the machine-built descent.

The name, "A Game of Two Halves," or "Kēmu o Rua Haurua," reflects the dual nature of the trail - one half hand-built, and the other machine-built.

The top half of the trail is narrow, tight, and twisty, traversing the terrain under Turbine Road, including two boardwalks. Near the southern boundary, its character shifts to wide, sweeping corners with jumps and rollers.
