After coming from the native bush canopy over Ikigai, the best way out of Waimapahi Reserve is on Serendipity. Another fast and flowy downhill run with roots, rocks and leaf litter and often dappled light, is a real highlight to finish a ride.
This was Trails Wellington’s first rebuild project, and Dunedin contractor OnTrack was used for it. They managed to add more amplitude to the existing trail built by the volunteer group, Brooklyn Trail Builders, who also perform the track maintenance here.
Serendipity is a fitting end to a mighty downhill run from the wind turbine to Aro Valley. Linking Carparts, Ikigai with Serendipity, makes a run as Wellington as it gets.
If you're so inclined, finish off in Aro Valley where eateries await. Oh yeah!
