Water Tower, Matairangi / Mt Vic.

In summer 2022, the existing Water Tower trail was fully rebuilt to deal with the extensive erosion and the overly prevalent ruts. It was made a little longer due to the gorse in the area and is notable for a little wooden roller about halfway down.
Whilst not a long track, it is a fun descent from Alexandra Park to the SPCA with multiple berms and switchbacks. These features make it an excellent trail for developing skills and learning to ride these trail features. Since the rebuild, this trail has been very popular with WORD.
Total Trail Solutions performed the rebuild work, which included adding decent drains so the surface could shed water after the rain, preventing further rapid erosion. Matarangi Trail Builders maintain this trail.
